Three people at Yahoo Labs decided to create a bodyprint scanner capable of analyzing your body parts to use your phone.

Whether you like it or not, the form of using a pin to unlock your phone is coming to an end.  We’ve already seen facial recognition and the simple touch of your finger to unlock a user’s phone, but now we can replace that with our ears.  I know what you’re thinking, “why did they go this far?”  Christian Holz, Senaka Buthpitiya and Marius Knaust state that due to high cost for such features as touch-id it would be better cut costs and use our body parts.

Fortunately, we are able to use more than just our ears to unlock our phone which shows that we can use our fist, finger grip and more to unlock our phone in a difficult situation.  However, for those who maybe in a sticky relationship, may not want to have this applied to their phones.  We’ve already seen short comedy clips of men falling asleep and the woman using their finger print to unlock their phone, so I’ll let you guess what a simple fist pump would do.  You can read more about the Yahoo Labs discovery here.
