L.A.-born Portland-based rapper/singer The Last Artful, Dodgr gives us the gritty when saluting her team.

It has been some time since we heard a female rapper who brought vibes such as Missy Elliott.  As we top off Women’s History month and the first day of March we are introduced to a new jewel in the game.  The Last Artful, Dodgr, gives us her raspy, confident and energetic visual “Squadron.”

Filmed at the Sticks & Stones workshop in Portland, the video shows Dodgr taking over the streets and art classrooms of her city, spitting in her trademark melodic flow. “My definition of squadron is fluid,” reveals Dodgr, “as the term applies to any group of people I may feel comfortable expressing myself in the midst of and sharing energy with.”  Produced by Australian producer DJ WNTD, the bouncy record complements her jaunty wordplay.  We aren’t sure if she is releasing an upcoming EP, but look for more music from her later in 2016.
