Latina artist Thaís Solano pays her respect in an illustration and portrait piece to famous artist Frida Kahlo.  Some of you maybe unfamiliar with the Mexican painter, but she certainly has made an impact in her country and feminists with her work.  When I was in college taking Art Appreciation 101, I first saw her work and later saw her biopic which starred Salma Hayek

Maybe it was her no nonsense approach or how I could relate having thick eyebrows, but she is in my top 5 favorite people in the art world.  Her influence has traveled very far which includes Houston, Texas most powerful woman in show biz Beyonce.  Kudos to Thaís for this great visual and you can see more of her work on

“I am my own muse, I am the subject I know best. The subject I want to know better.”
Frida Kahlo
