Harlem Rappers Come Through With A Trippy Bass, Get Loud And Be Ready Record After SXSW Performances
“Today’s a new day, got the boo-lay up in the suitcase, Go uptown to Harlem, tell ’em that I sent ya!” Word to Juelz Santana, this new record “Ready” from Slim Dollars and Marty Baller reminded me why I love Harlem artists. We have supported Slim Dollars of Tripset and producer/rapper Qu’ality in the past with their record New Hot Boyz who now have collaborated once more just in time for spring. It’s a first appearance for Marty Baller who is no stranger and is a part of the Traplord / ASAP Mob family.
I was fortunate to run into Slim Dollars this past winter and in typical fashion he was always on the move conducting business, but prior to his show that evening. In this particular record and if you follow him on SnapChat, he seems to continue his work ethic of being ready for anything. So you can say the guy really lives what he rhymes and seems to do what Harlem artists do best. Which is stick to the sound, progress with your peers and make money. On the production side of things Qu’ality and Teebur have amplified the rappers personas.
Both coming out swinging as you can tell by their cover art, it’s a guns blazing and ask questions later feel. Marty Baller has plans to debut his mixtape ‘MARTY G RAW‘ which we look forward to hearing. In May, Slim Dollars will release his mixtape ‘New Phone Who Dis’ that will feature production from Jahlil Beats, Sean C & LV, Ism Beats and features from FAMESCHOOL, Bizzy Crook , Smoke DZA & more.
